Participation:
------------

All clubs, members of the HFV (Hamburger Fußball-Verband), covering the state of Hamburg, may enter the competitions except:
- II teams;
- Bundesliga teams;
- 2. Bundesliga teams.

207 teams enter the competition.


Knockout stage:
------------

1st Round:
207 teams, 206 of them are drawn into 103 pairs, with the remaining 1 team receiving a bye into the 2nd Round.
Winners are decided over one leg, with extra time and penalties if score is level after regular time.
Lower level teams are hosts, if both teams of a pair are from the same level, hosting is determined by draw.

2nd Round:
104 teams are drawn into 52 pairs.
Winners are decided over one leg, with extra time and penalties if score is level after regular time.
Lower level teams are hosts, if both teams of a pair are from the same level, hosting is determined by draw.

3rd Round:
52 teams, 40 of them are drawn into 20 pairs, with the remaining 12 teams receiving a bye into the 4th Round.
Winners are decided over one leg, with extra time and penalties if score is level after regular time.
Lower level teams are hosts, if both teams of a pair are from the same level, hosting is determined by draw.

4th Round:
32 teams are drawn into 16 pairs.
Winners are decided over one leg, with extra time and penalties if score is level after regular time.
Lower level teams are hosts, if both teams of a pair are from the same level, hosting is determined by draw.

8th Finals:
16 teams are drawn into 8 pairs.
Winners are decided over one leg, with extra time and penalties if score is level after regular time.
Lower level teams are hosts, if both teams of a pair are from the same level, hosting is determined by draw.

Quarter-finals:
8 teams are drawn into 4 pairs.
Winners are decided over one leg, with extra time and penalties if score is level after regular time.
Lower level teams are hosts, if both teams of a pair are from the same level, hosting is determined by draw.

Semi-finals:
4 teams are drawn into 2 pairs.
Winners are decided over one leg, with extra time and penalties if score is level after regular time.
Lower level teams are hosts, if both teams of a pair are from the same level, hosting is determined by draw.

Final:
The two Semi-finals winners meet each other with the winner becoming Regional Cup Hamburg winner.
Winner is decided over one leg, with extra time and penalties if score is level after regular time.
The match is played at a neutral venue.
